DVD Identifier, as its name suggests, is a program that lets you know the manufacturer data of most of your DVDs, HD DVDs, and Blue-Ray discs. It does not matter what is printed on the cover of your discs; with this program you will get the actual information about most of them.
The process of identifying a disc is pretty simple. You just put your DVD, HD DVD, or Blue-ray disc in your drive and press the button - the program will display the real information about your disc. The program has a tabbed interface, which allows it to show the information about each disc type.
Furthermore, at the bottom of the program's interface, additional information is shown, like the status of the program's tasks, the drive capabilities (e.g. shows the speed at which that drive is capable of writing a disc), and the media-code block.
Finally, in the new version (5.2) a new feature for detecting 6x blue-ray discs has been added. Besides, the manufacturer's database has been updated and now contains over 900 types of discs from nearly 100 different manufacturers.
